New technology sometimes solve problems in ways we some of us never thought of. This idea comes from a company called GPS Smartsole. These special insoles use GPS and cellular technology to track the person wearing them. A special app lets you use your phone or computer to find the persons location. What a great idea and product.

Happy Oreo Day
Today is Oreo cookie day.
National Biscuit Company, came up with the idea for a cookie that was two chocolate discs with creme in the centre in 1912. The first use of the term “Oreo” to describe their creation was on March 6, 1912. That’s why March 6 is National Oreo Cookie Day, although the trademark filing was on March 12 and was not accepted until 1913.
The most recent renewal of the trademark was 2013
"As Time Magazine notes, the origin of the word “oreo” is still a mystery. Some thought it might come from the French word “or” for gold, since the original packaging featured gold coloring. Others suggested that it comes from the Greek word for mountain, since the original test version had a hill shape that’s very different from what we know today."
So do you split it in two and eat the centre first, dip it in milk or just eat it whole? Happy Oreo Day.

The princess sat alone in her dark grey room high atop the
Castle of Everdull. Day after day she wished she could go and
see something different, something more exciting than dark grey
all the time. Her walls were bare and lit by candles but even the
candles were unexcited about the light they gave. All they did
was light up the dullness of the grey rooms.
In them, the princess dreamt of a beautiful valley full of flowers of
every colour.
One day she was walking around the dull grey castle
thinking that there must be more to this world than the blah and
blah and grey and dark. Just then she saw something out of

25-foot seas, 30-mph winds and we are out of cooking fuel. What was I doing, here in the middle of the Arabian Sea with three strangers, being chased by pirates?

The Day A Dingo Stole My What?
It was Feb 6, 1991. I
was well into my around the world backpacking trip. I had just come from a long stop in Byron Bay, one of the highlights of my whole trip (they are all highlights). Having seen most of Australia by this point, it was
time to check out the world’s largest sand island, Fraser Island.

I arrived in Hervey Bay at 6pm and immediately made new
friends about to embark on an adventure to Fraser Island the next day.
Our international group was made up of Alison (UK), Debbie
(Can), Mark and Wayne (UK) and 2 Swedish girls named Maria and Urika. We just called them Ingrid and Helga or “The
Hurdy Gurdy Girls”. (as in The Swedish Chef and not Donovan).
We provisioned
with steak, veggies, spaghetti and 5 crates of beer for two nights. Just the essentials really.
We picked up our Toyota 4x4 outfitted with all the camping gear and food
we would need for a couple of days along with tide charts.
